Thanks for remembering open mike and I really had a good time at Sunny Camp what a lot of great talent!
Just to wrap up, Doin' the Manch was written by Keith Marsden about the pubs on that stretch of Manchester Road leading out of Bradford city centre up to the top of the hill known as Odsal Top, there being 28 in all 27 of which I think are named in the song. It's usual for stag nights to set out to do a gill(see Byker Hill and Walker Shore thread) in every one, real heroes might attempt a pint!

Cockersdale was Keiths group up until his premature death from heart attack at the age I believe of 43.Their CDs are available from Fellside including the one with Doin' the Manch on it and several of Keiths other great songs many of which, unfortuneately are too local in content to be sung much here in the States, most of them are published together with backgroun info in the book "Pickin' sooty blackberries" which was available from Amazon last time I checked
