Dear Santa

Thank you for all the presents you gave me last year. This year I'm sending my Secret Santa a few ideas:

1. what is your age range?
48. I know that is a specific not a range!

2. gender?
Male - very definitely, and very red blooded!

3. Do you have a favorite color?
Deep reds, plum and particularly burgundy.

4. favorite authors/ type of book?
Fiction - Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Patrick O'Brian (good humorous science fantasy or early 19th Century naval)
Non-fiction - history - particularly mid eighteenth century onwards. British Railway history

5. what books have you really been wanting?
Patrick O'Brian Aubrey/Maturin novels other than Master and Commander, Post Captain, The Thirteen Gun Salute, and Blue At The Mizzen

6. what type of music do you like?
Most - but particularly Baroque and traditional. The traditional music of my Santa's home area would be reeeeeeally cool.

7. what cds have you really been wanting?
Too many to think about!

8. What movies (vhs is in the price range) have you been wanting?
Ealing Comedies. I have a particular yearning for Passport to Pimlico, but that's only because I used to work for a company with a head office just over Vauxhall Bridge Road from Pimlico.

9. what is your t-shirt size?
Generally XL

10. do you collect anything? if so, what?
Too many things!

11. what are some of your other hobbies?
Railway modelling (British outline "N" and "O" gauge; gardening; computing - but I do that for a living as well; history - see books above, and be prepared to be bored to death about my great grandfather if you ever meet me!

12. do you prefer gold-tone or silver-tone jewelry?
The only jewellery I normally wear is a watch and a wedding ring. But that's probably because I got bored with piercings, so I stopped wearing an ear ring, and I've never possessed any sort of pendants or medallions. Especially gold ones. On the other hand, I may go back to a single ear ring…

13. please include anything else you feel is important that would help your secret santa know what you would like
I'm married with two kids!

Remember that "negative hints" such as allergies might also be helpful.
I get hay fever, and I can't stand things that skitter about quickly.
