You just about captured what's going on at my house, Chance. Except that my cat is going to a neighbor's for the duration. I took him over there yesterday and introduced him to my friends' cat and dog. The two cats got along fine- their cat, much younger than my old gentleman - followed archy around wherever he explored and old archy never growled once. Different story when the dog came on the scene. archy climbed the topmost platform of their cat scratch post peering down at the awed dog.

One unfortunate bit of timing occurred this week when some friends showed up in town. I hadn't seen them since they moved to Washington state and this was their first trip "home" to attend their son's father in law's funeral. I'll be gone most of the time that they are here but I've gotten to play with them three times at this point and went out to dinner with them last night. We plan to meet and play together one more time tonight. Just the way it goes.
