This thread title caught my eye. Many years ago, I was asked to survey one of the Seattle "turn of the century" mansions. I dutifully did so, counted the bathrooms, bedrooms, perused the basement for signs of rot, etc. This was/is a four story mansion but in 1895. I spent a full day going through crack and crevice looking for problems that needed attention.
I finally reached the fourth story w a a a y up high. Lo and behold, I found a tiny bathroom in the corner of a "maid's room." Yep, the toilet was imported from England and it was stamped in that beautiful blue dye ... "Thomas Crapper!"
I offered to trade my day's work for just the toilet but the homeowner was too smart for that! Bob(deckman)Nelson
