At past Getaways I had admired Pauline's violin playing from afar. It was great to get to talk to her up close and in person.

Who knows more songs, Ron Davies or Judy Cook? Amazing.

KT and Ebbie were another two that I had wished to talk to last year, and got to share a cabin with this year! KT popped up from her sleeping bag like a jack-in-the-box with a big huge smile on her face, all three mornings, after just a little sleep!

I adored listening to Annie and Ebbie play square dance tunes on fiddle and guitar. I already knew sister Annie was a fine fiddler--now I can also vouch for Ebbie's picking (not that it needs vouching for.)

This was the year of voices raised in wonderful, full choruses. At one point, I was walking around outside and it seemed like I was floating from one billowy cloud of harmony to another as I passed workshops and groups of people just making music together under the trees.

I agree with others, the dueling banjo/kazoo performance by Geoff the Duck was absolutely stellar! I hope someone got a photo or video of it--the visuals are important to that particular scene!

More later.

XXOO,
Janie
