Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Reflections Here...
I once heard a police investigator explain a way in which they are different from the common people. He said, 'You notice how much the person has changed. We are trained to take note of how many things are still the same.'

People's appearances tend to become a blur to me. I would never be any good viewing a police lineup, but if I had a chance to talk with the person as I'd had before it might all come back, complete with the name, kind of like accessing a file.

I've noticed that even in looking at Lorcan's photos (in the Photopage Flickr thread) I'm not sure of the identity of some of the static images. As you'll notice I got several people wrong. My apologies.

There were many memorable people at the Getaway that I haven't mentioned, people I enjoyed very much. CatsPHiddle, for instance- a most memorable one. She has a spirit that smacks me in the heart and is beautiful besides; overall she is a grand presence. I love to watch her and Micca together. (My notion is that if we could but see into past lives we would find connections that go WAY back.)

And Micca. What can one say. This year I decided he is more "normal" than I thought last year! No offense, Micca, either way you are fascinating. And a softie too. I have never heard a purtier love song than he accomplished on stage. ;)

I enjoyed the Sunday evening songfest (and I got some good songs taped; among others, Slowing Down for Lethargy is great) but I did miss last year's more intimate gathering in the TV room. I was looking forward to hearing Karen K lead 'This Time Again'. I never got to hear her at all this year.

I enjoyed talking with Rumanci, although I didn't get to hear her sing. Hearing and watching LeadFingers was a trip. I loved meeting and hearing the very talented A MOSS (Ask Chance and Micca, Amos) I would love to know Mmario better and also hear more songs from him. And Gutbucketeer - that man is far more gifted than he realizes. Charley Noble is a treasure. So many, many more. If I didn't name YOU, just accept that you are cradled in my heart. My cabin roommates were wonderful. I liked the ambiance of connection (There's that word again).

And thanks to Annie, I got to play her 0000 Martin- never even saw one of those before. Annie is an excellent fiddler and I would have loved to play longer. (On the other hand, that is when I missed the Bobert's mini concert. sniff)
