Back home again us four after some memorable wanderings through six (?) states having met, listened to, shared music and smiled with some fascinating people along the way and some amazing sights most of them just locked into my mind now
I'm not really going to use this thread in its proper way to reflect on the Getaway just yet (maybe later I can put some of those special musical and other memories into a proper perspective) except to say that I enjoyed every minute of it.

Instead, may I just say a huge thankyou to

:- the company I was with the whole trip - (you are "great guys" Carole, Theresa and Andrew) and the organising of ME....lol
:- the generous hospitality received while meandering about and the stories shared of their local places which brought them so much to life for me
:- the FSGW for all their hard work, visible and invisible, and their wonderful welcomes
:- for old Mudcatter friends staying entirely their on-line selves
:- for new friends met
:- for the music.............just WOW !
:- for that one mind-blowingly incongruous visual image of tall ships in front of high-rise blocks in New York Harbour :-D

It doesn't seem real to have gone, been there, or be back but the memories are just magical
