Well, if I can't make it, it would be easy enough to follow you folks back to Mansfield! Also, if Giok wants to go to the jam/open mike, he can get back to Owego faster by NOT returning to Corning but by these directions:

From 10 West Expresso, go to the light in Mansfield. Turn left onto Route 6 East. Go approximately 3 miles, turn left onto 549 (can only turn one way). Take 549 to the NY State line where it turns into Route 328. Follow 328 right into Elmira, NY, go over the bridge and watch for signs for Route 17 East....and Owego is up the road about 20 miles or so....much faster than retracing steps back to Corning and up to Owego.

Giok,

If you like art as in old paintings, it might be worthwhile for you to visit the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, NY. This is before Corning. I believe it's $5.00 to get in. It's a small museum but has some stunning older paintings as well as an ever changing exhibit and a room used strictly for local artist exhibits as well. To get there, take Route 17 West, get off at the Elmira Exit, I believe it is Exit 56, Church Street....you might want to call the museum to double check though (Phone: 607-734-3697). Once you are on the exit, you will cross over a bridge (that crosses over Rte. 17) and you will know you are in the right spot when you see a large convienent store called (Dandy) on the left. Ok...so go straight, at the third red light, you will see a Dunkin Donuts store on your right...keep going straight. Look for Lake Street on your left. The museum is a large red building with white pillars out front. As I mentioned, it's fairly small....and you to enjoy it, plan about an hour. :) Have fun..the folks there are wonderful....I used to do volunteer work there! If you should meet up with a blonde woman named Mary, tell her Michelle from Mansfield says hello! :)
