Dave will remain in my mind as a truly inspired folk artist who took humour to the bounds of good taste and well beyond! The creation of Avril Betts was an act of genius that provided pleasure to many of us here on the Mudcat.

I enjoyed meeting Dave at the Stony Stratford Gathering, and seeing him perform some extraordinary versions of well-known songs.

I have been deeply impressed by his courage and sheer gutsiness through all his illnesses.He will be greatly missed, and may I add my sympathy to Linda and to Dave's family in their sad loss.
