I recall way back when Stan Freburg had a radio show. He had a running gag that went somehing like:

"Who was that maked man?"
"The Lone Ranger! and his faithful Swiss sidekick, Tonto--this way we don't offend anyone."

or

"I had a case of the flu"
"Hong Kong Flu?"
"No, Swiss flu. This way we don't offend anyone."
