If you use a Mac, You need a lead with phono outputs from your amp to 1/8 stereo jack plug. I use a programme called Spin Doctor (ame bundled with the Toast programme). Easy to use, never crashes and I have transfered 100s of my old LP collection to CD using it. Never a problem
