FWIW I often get asked why I wear red - "Because I am a poser" usually ends that and we talk about - whatever.

Only once have I had the one to one with a really persistant stranger and I said "I am conducting a survey into tolerance"

That worked very effectively.

(because I want to and because I am a poser - that's the real reason)
