Thread Name: BS: Wearing the kilt!!!
Subject: RE: BS: Wearing the kilt!!!
I frequently wear my kilt in public. I go to Scottish Country Dances, and other Scottish events regularly, and I perform in a Scottish orchestra, the Strathspey and Reel Society of New Hampshire. So I am frequently seen in restaurants and pubs, and pumping gas, etc, in my kilt. (see member photos.) Usually people don't say anything, but I have had several "nice kilt, man!" from teenagers, especially back when Braveheart was popular. I think that if you look comfortable and relaxed in your kilt, you won't get as many odd reactions.

I took it to be cleaned recently, at a local establishment. The bill said "ladies red pleated skirt" and when they pressed it they messed up my pleats, so I am going to have to redo the pressing or else get my resident kiltmaker to do it for me.
