There are some easy add-ons that can dress this up a bit.
Try playing [G] [C] [G]
following rover, over, war and Gallipoli lines
-or- [G] [Gsus4] [G]
(if you play your G in the Fielding position, just add a C with index finger on B string while holding the G form).Also, if you play the D instead of the D7, you can play:
[D] quay [Dsus4] [D]
just by catching the G on the E-string with your pinkie while holding the D form.You'll sound just like Liam Clancy. Now, how to keep from crying?
