Thread Name: BS: Avoid Nevada
Subject: RE: BS: Avoid Nevada
My one and only traffic ticket was in Reno. There's a corner where they just sit and wait for you because it's a trap, and I fell into it. My street had a jog in it at one intersection, resulting in a left turn then a right turn to keep traveling in the same direction. If you choose to go straight down the intersecting street instead of making that second turn, you're into his clutches becauses they consider going straight an "illegal left turn." Go figure.

As Bert says, I was not staying for a long time or I'd have fought it. I ended up paying the fine because I thought I might in the future like to drive through Nevada on my way to someplace else and I didn't want a warrant out for my arrest.

I did blow off a parking ticket in New York City, and was surprised to discover some 10 years later that they'd sent a notice to an old address of mine trying to close out the ticket. A friend sent it to me. I think I sent it back to NY saying I'd moved and left no forwarding address. . . (That ticket was generated at a time when it added great insult to injury--my vehicle was parked on the street and had been broken into by some neighborhood kids. I spotted it on my way to the train station to go to work, so had to move it and secure it quickly and ended up with my bumper over the line at a cross walk).
