Pictured above: Santa is watching... the birdie? So it would seem, as evidenced by this picture. It seems that our dear Old Saint Nick relieved his luckless assistant of his camera, and took a "shot" at making his own visual record of Jaze's gift. Unfortunately, Santa was not wearing his spectacles at the time, and was forced to hold the camera at very close range in order to determine the location of various buttons on the camera and read their labels. As you may have guessed, Santa was staring into the camera's telephoto lens when his finger found the shutter button! The iris of his baby-blue eye -- the one that sees you when you're sleeping (the other one sees you when you're awake) -- was immortalized on film. The camera was subsequently returned to Santa's assistant, who resumes his duties as official North Pole Workshop photographer. The photographer, quite wisely, has not released a statement concerning the incident.
