Lionel Trains is still in business, but you'll get better help from a local hobby shop that has trains as one of its lines of stock.

   Sandpaper and light oil will clean the rust from the track, unless you want to keep the original tin plating on the track. Phosphoric acid should clean the rust off, then use something like WD-40 to form a thin, non rusting film on the rails.
