When I want to study how long, healthy, loving relationships, I look to my friends and family for examples. It seems that two of the longest, healthest and happiest relationship that I know of happen to be two gay male couples.

When I asked a member of one the couples, they both devoted to each other for over 15 years, what he thought of San Francisco Mayor allowing gay marriages back a year or so ago, he said that that would be great because as it stands my friend would not be allowed to visit his partner if his partner was placed in an intensive care unit in the hospital. Hearing this opened my eyes.

It seems to me that this world has gotten things confused. Hate and war are the "in" things to believe and support. Love and tolerance are considered dangerous and subversive. Doesn't make sense to me and I won't hold my breath that it will make sense any time soon either.
