Thread Name: ADD: I Saw Her Snatch the Suitcase (bawdy)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Some bawdy drinking song???
This song was preformed by The Treniers, who were an R&B group during the 40's and are credited by some as the group that first started Rock & Roll. To the best of my knowledge the song title is "I Saw Her Snatch". Milt Trenier can still be seen singing this song in Chicago, though if you go to see him you might have to request it. I have only seen this done as duet. The following is my recollection of the song. I don't know how to best write this out and will be using an "..." to indicate a hold for two beats of the music.

1: I saw her snatch...

2: What are you singing you can't sing that!

1: What?

2: You can't sing a song like that in front of these fine people.

1: All I was going to say was; I saw her snatch... her suitcase from the window.

2: Oh, alright.

1: I saw her snatch… her suitcase from the window. I held her but...

2: Hold it, hold it. What are you doing?

1: What?

2: You just can't sing a song like this!

1: Why? I was just going to sing; I held her but... a moment in the rain.

2: That's it?

1: Yes

2: Ok

1: I saw her snatch... her suitcase from the window. I held her but... a moment in the rain. I kissed as...

2: That's it! Stop right there!

1: All I was singing was; I kissed her as... she departed for the station.

2: look, just do me a favor. Keep it closer together, and don't pause like that.

1: Keep it closer together?

2: Yes, please.

1: Alright.

2: Thank you.

1: I saw her snatchher suitcase from the window. I held her buta moment in the rain. I kissed her asshe departed for the station. To see her bother Jack off on the train.
