Glad to be put right on Guto Nyth Bran, Nigel. We can establish:
1) He was born in 1700;
2) He did not run to Newport and back, but to Pontypridd (which is a distance of 7 miles, NOT 30 - how silly of me);
3) "Wellwishers" did not slap Guto on the back - Sian-O-Siop did.
4) He was named Griffith Morgan, but his parents moved to Nyth Bran farmhouse.
