This afternoon I managed to finally figure out the system - you ask the i-Pod (i-Tunes on PC)to "Subscribe" to a podcast. It brings up a box asking for an URL. You paste "http://howandtao.com/daily-frail.xml" into the box ( i.e. = internet link to http://howandtao.com/daily-frail.xml
which is the "clever" bit which tells i-Tunes what to download aas a "podcast") and it downloads the current active episode whenever you open i-Tunes and are connected to the internet.
I still haven't figured out if there is a way to collect the episodes I have missed, and ones for days I don't actually remember to turn on the computer, but that is another posting (I expect).
That said - what I have heard and downloaded manually is definitely worth checking out for beginners at frailing.
