Bush was elected by about 51% of the American people. So, 49% did not elect him. The various polls (take your pick) indicate that only 40% of the people still like the guy. That said, here's the math:

51% - 40% = 11%

Fully 20% of those who voted for Bush now don't like the guy's policies/administration. In raw numbers, about 62,000,000 people voted for George Bush. Take 20% from that number, and it means that over 12 MILLION people have changed their minds about him. Mudcat may be a non-influential, meaningless nest of liberalism, radicalism and socialism, so discount this place. However, it is slightly more difficult to discount that figure of 12,000,000, because that figure is ALL Republican.
