Hey Gnu, how about some examples so as we could agree or disagree wid you?

The offensive pass interference call on the Seahawks was spot on. The only problem is if its only called right once in a season it looks bad. I for one am sick of receivers pushing off on defensive backs and then making a catch, or worse, getting a flag for defensive pass interference.

The call on the mythical touchdown was pathetic. There is no way the ball broke the plane of the goal line. That is the most agravating rule in the book - no other line is treated that way in the game, the end zone should be treated like the sidelines - you aint in until you get a body part in.

On two other plays that went against the Seahawks the Steelers were clearly offsides - one the Seahawks were penalized for holding (which there was) and on the second one the Seahawks QB was sacked. Either or both times the Steelers defensive end crossed the line before the center snapped the ball.

This was the worst season for officiating in the playoffs that I have seen, culminating in the worst Super Bowl ever officiated. I thought the Broncos (twice) and the Patriots (twice) were clearly favored by the refs, but this game was ridiculous. Was it enough to effect the outcome of the game? Who can say, many of the calls were early. But the overall taste in my mouth was pretty rotten - and too bad too. Jerome Bettis was a great story line, and the Seahawks gave it all they had. I just wish I could be sure that the Steelers really deserved to win the game.
