(The Snot Hilarious, as Rapaire will confirm, was an early medieval fencing manuver, designed to throw the opponent off balance by laughing uproariously while blowing one's nose in his general direction. This was gradually phased out as fencing became more civilized and formalized.

There is, however, a residual but readily traceable remnant of its once-widespread usage, in the form of a sour look combined with a groaning mimic of a laugh, still found circulating in some prinitive North American sub-cultures. The gesture is evoked under certain conditions reflected by its surviving name, the "Snot Funny".

Some linguists insist that there is no direct etymological kinship between the Snot Hilarious and the Snot Funny, but these are people who need to get lives.
