I worked with a really macho feminist back in the early 1970s. She was so tough she didn't use a handkerchief, she just turned her head, put index finger to block one nostril, and blew snot at the ground. I nearly peed myself laughing the day when she turned her head one way then the other to blow her nose, and hit both shoulders in the process.
