Again Ill say it there are many who have adopted this sick unhuman way of thinking.
What started as a small group's doctrine has actually spread to a heck of lot of places outside Topeka, as John in Kansas has pointed out. Supporters of Phelp's views have been around for a while now.
Came across some in the UK a while ago and in a few other Countries I visit.
That is the thing about Hate driven egomania..it seems to draw more of the same mentality towards it and rarely stays contained in the area of origin.

I do not hold with the thinking that all hate stems from fear. Certain manifesations of hate stem from mental imbalance and/or a deep rooted feeling of self loathing in some cases imo.
