The phrase "I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the deat your right to say it." Is a bogus quote usually attributed to Voltaire (though it is a reasonable summary of some things he did say)
I have always preferred Sartre's "I hate people who respect their Executioners." & consider the 2 quotes incompatible.
My own observation & experience long since led me to the conclusion that no sex,gender,sexual orientation ,nationality, race or creed has a monopoly on bigotry.
