Local names who would have been appearing at North East Festivals in the Seventies (Hexham, Durham, Tynemouth, Redcar, Newcastle) would have included The Fettlers, Vin Garbutt, The High Level Ranters, Ray Fisher, Hedgehog Pie, Pigmeat, Jim Sharpe, Pegleg Ferret, Bob Davenport and the Marsden Rattlers, Bernie Parry, Eddie Walker, Pete Betts, Pete Scott and Hendon Banks. I know sadly some of those are no longer with us but they were the festival names of that time.
