Alas, I'm from Llantrisant ("the hole with the Mint") so I couldn't taaalk proper Kaaardiff like - though I spent 19 years as a journalist down the Echo, in Thompson 'Ouse, like. Victoria Park is in the outskirts of Canton, where the residents could stare longingly across the distance to their promised land - Llandaff! It's genteel, like. Kaaardiff Arms Paaark is a popular mecca for rugby fans - it's the same difference, but the urban folk tradition has popularised it.

By the way, Frank Hennessey (of BBC Wales' Celtic Heartbeat fame)brought up the question of the song "Llandaff", and played the Irish qroup Cran's recording of "Laugh And Half Daft" (a smoothed-out folk version of "Llandaff".) I heard the Irish singer Brian Mullen sing "Llandaff" a long time ago, and I was in The Ship And Pilot when I heard this woman sing "Llandaff". I think I'll start a new thread...
