It was early morning, around 5 a.m., and I was on the bow of the boat watching the sun rise through the mists of the Tombigbee River. The boat was moving slowing, leaving no wake to speak of, Spanish Moss was dripping of the trees, and all in all it was a magical moment.

Then the logs along the shore winked at me and I was very glad there was a steel hull around me!
