Opinion only: More men cheat, but more women have long-running affairs. A lot of male cheating is of the single-encounter type, such as with prostitutes or bar pick-ups, where there's minimal emotional involvement. Women have a much stronger tendency to cheat with men they already know well and, thusly, run a much higher risk of getting "involved".
