Thread Name: Tune Req: Separation Blues (Patrick Sky)
Subject: RE: TAB for Separation Blues
I tend to agree EZ, but there are a few others I find equally compelling. "Many Times Before" which I posted the other day is not well known, but very beautiful. I think I'll repost "Love Will Endure" which is kinda' fragmented on another thread. "Nectar of God" also needs to be put up here.

Outside of his songwriting, Pat was also a performer of traditional songs as well, often with very unique takes. On one album, there's even a frailed banjo version of the Gilbert and Sullivan "Modern Major General." His "Rattlesnake Mountain" and "Payday" are both personalized versions of trad songs. Somewhere too I remember Rick Fielding saying that he saw him do "Modern Major General" live and found it funny.

His association with Peter LaFarge, Buffy Ste. Marie. and especially Mississippi John Hurt, plus his own roots, made for an interesting combination. I find no one else quite like him.
