The 'winning' thing that I find most objectionable is the American contests where 5 year girls are dressed and made up like high class prostitutes BY THEIR PARENTS!

Has always struck me as a kind of child pornographic activity, apart for the cultivation of blind greed as cooly expressed by some of the 'mature' 5 year old contestants when interviewed!
