I have received a letter from the Secretary of the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat which reads as follows:-

"Dear Nick & Christine

Andrew (the treasurer) has informed me that he has received a wonderfully generous cheque of £510 from your fund raising at the Milnsbridge Socialist Club. Please will you pass on to all concerned our great thanks for the generousity and hard work of all you friends. I know that most of those involved travlled a great distance before even beginning. I would particularly grateful if you would give special thanks to Chris Carter for the donation of his Bodhran, Eddie and Maureen who sent a cheque for 325 even though they didn't attaend and Deidre Speed who sent £10 after reading your web blog. It is all truly amazing! We are trying to build funds currently for a new boat, so your cheque was especially welcome.
Please will you keep me informed of your gig in Glaisdale in the summer.We would like to attend if possible.

I am also pleased to relate that one of the ladies who frequents the Socialist club asked for donations instead of presents for a big birthday party she held at the club, have the monies to Kirkwood Hospice in Huddersfield and half to the Rescue Boat, she then gave me a cheque for £200 !! This together with a further cheque I had received for £10 was sent to the treasurer last week making a total so far this year of £720, a fabulous amount.
