But they make for such good melodrama!

Lots of storms this week, and my ratty old hackberry by the side fence dropped a very large limb. . . into the middle of my next door neighbor's shade garden. I've been out cutting branches and making a stack and now I have to go borrow a chainsaw, Mom, and cut the biggest piece down (it's still attached to the tree). We may head to the nursery to buy a couple of replacement plants. Don't wait up for me.

It pays to be a good neighbor with this. They have an even BIGGER hackberry further back in the yard, and if it comes down, it'll take out the corner of my back fence!
