I seem to remember my brothers' football boots weighed about 8lbs each.... and that's before they had the studs in and one of those nice honeycomb patterns of clotted mud and grass adhering to the soles. Perhaps if footballers wore boots that weren't made of ping pong ball plastic then they might get to keep their feet in better shape.
