Anyone know where folks will be gathering to sing after the Thursday evening opening concert. The website says "open pub sing" but doesn't specify where.

Friday and Saturday evening the after concert sings are scheduled at the dance hall across from the Main Entrance to the Museum (South Gate). For those who have never experienced this space, it's a large open rectangular room with a bar (beer and wine) conveniently located in the entryway. It's not easily accessible to the handicapped being on the 2nd floor but if you are courageous and have strong trustworthy friends you should be able to navigate in and out safely. Format is spontaneous. You try to raise a shanty/chanty/chantey as the current one is ending, and if you pick the right key and have the support of a cluster of friends you may even survive the process. It's really not the place for quiet ballads or instruments.

Performers always attend, although if they are wise they don't risk leading too many songs. However, for volunteers and guests this is your opportunity to shine. And, yes, you can always enjoy chorusing along or just listening.

Cheerily,
