Mr. Frank Merrill of Chicago was able to find a copy of this record. I had misremembered the title--it's "Grayson Goofed!" not "Grayson was a Gink"--the latter being merely a repeated phrase throughout the song. It was recorded by "Waldo, Dudley and Dora" and issued as record #PU-1 by "Awful Records." Presumably it was issued in direct response to the 1958 Kingston Trio version of "Tom Dooley," but I am unable to locate any further information about the artist or the label, which by my best determination issued no further records.
