Well, having ploughed through this little lot, I rather like the word 'hogget' that JennyO mentions above. It sounds like another good old Yorkshire word, but obviously isn't. Getting back to the original linguistic theme, any entries for the origins of this or was it simply made up by a bored 'Cocky' one night in the outback??
