Thread Name: BS: hit by lightening
Subject: RE: BS: hit by lightening
I learned that lightening is coming in both directions. Small feeders grow upwards and attract the large charges that are desending. When they find each other WHHOOMP.

Lightening still is a surprisingly unkown quantity in its exact mechanics. Its only been a decade since we learned conclusively that lightening "sprites" shoot upwards into the ionosphere and disperse in a widening cone. This was folklore by airline pilots until satillites captured some pictures.

Lightening is hotter than the suface of the sun
