I always think of Ian Tyson's version when I see that title.


"Wagoner's Lad" is also called "Hard is the Fortune", although probably less commonly.



I think "Red River Valley" was originally written/published as "Bright Mohawk Valley" or something to that effect. I know y'all hate Wikipedia but too bad (this is not the only reference I've seen, of course).
