Thread Name: Lyr Req: Who Can Sail/Vem kan segla
Subject: ADD Version: Who Can Sail?
I didn't find it in any scout songbooks, but it's in a book called Tent and Trail Songs from the American Camping Association, originally published in 1962 by the Cooperative Recreation Service - so I figure it's one of many international songs that came into use in the US by way of the Cooperative Recreation Service. It's also in a Cooperative Recreation Service book called East-West Songs, which apparently is the original U.S. source of this song.

Here's their version. It's only slightly different from the others, but posting the exact lyrics makes it less cumbersome to explain the MIDI.

Who Can Sail
(Swedish Folk Song)

Who can sail away with no wind?
Who can row without oars?
And who can separate from dear friends
With never a single tear.

I can sail away with no wind;
I can row without oars,
But I can't separate from dear friends
With never a single tear.

Vem kan segla förutan vind, vem kan ro utan åror,
vem kan skiljas från vännen sin utan att fälla tårar?

from Louise Dannielson, Stockholm -published in East-West Songs, Cooperative Recreation Service 1960

The tune is very much like the ABC tune that OldPossum posted above.
