peg- CRASS COMMERCIAL ANNOUNCEMENT TO FOLLOWCAMSCO (or Camsco Music, to be formal)is a record retailer specializing in folk music. I happen to own it, but that's not really the point. CAMSCO has been making hard-to-find folk recordings available at competitive prices for the better part of a decade. In addition to a pretty-damn-big catalog, we can get you just about any recording, US or overseas, that's in print.
You can reach CAMSCO at The Mudcat Shop or at www.camsco.com
At the Mudcat Shop, Mudcat gets a cut; if you go through camsco.com (which has a more complete list), just mention Mudcat, and Mudcat will get a cut. About the only folk recordings CAMSCO doesn't normally carry are those produced by Folk-Legacy (Sandy Paton). Not because we don't like them--FL recordings are generally superb--but because FL is also available at The Mudcat Shop, and Sandy is quite competent to sell his own wares.
Frankly (even recognizing that I have a vested interest here) I can't see why anyone would buy recordings from anyone else besides CAMSCO and Folk-Legacy. Give 'em a try!
