I lived 15 miles south of the Arctic Circle for two years. Night lasted for about three months, and day lasted for about three months. The other six months were a bit of both. You have my sympathy. (I used to put tinfoil on the windows, figuriung the turkey could take care of itself in the oven.) Summers were hot and the heat just wouldn't go away. During the day, the sun shone and the rock just soaked up the heat. Then during night--or what would have been night if it wasn't just more day--the heat kinda stayed near the rock. Of course, Nature made up for that with winters that gave us temperatures of 50 below zero at night that warmed up to 35 below zero during the day--or what would have been day if . . . .
