I suppose you're right and it could just be simple attention-seeking behaviour, but it always just strikes me as sort of weird, like being violently offeded by the sight of someone with red hair, or anyone who wears a green shirt, etc. It's like, "why should you care so much bout something that has nothing to do with you?", you know?
