I was at a meeting last night where one of the participants recounted a television show that had given her food for thought.

It is a show called '30 Days', I understand, and the show that had struck her so had two parts. The first segment detailed the experience of an American who was out of work after his job was outsourced to India.

The show producers (whoever that may be) sent him to India to live with an Indian family for 30 days. The daughter of the family had gotten a job like the one the American had lost- and it was feeding 16 people.

In that month not only did the American learn to love the family but he also gained an appreciation for what outsourcing is doing for the world.

We are in such a period of transition... I grew up in a vanilla community, except for the occasional American Indian, who was invariably given a hard time. Today there is a great intermixing of races, nationalities and cultures. I suspect that the 'white' people are beginning to realize that they are seriously outnumbered and it scares them. And frightened people are scary.
