John, PM or ask Joe Offer. I think he would do it with this one.
The general rule is that it's not a good idea to post duplicates of things already in the Forum or the Digital Tradition. When you're making a study of a song and its variants, like in a DTStudy or an Origins thread, that restriction doesn't make sense. If it's an isolated message or a very short thread, I move it to the more significant thread. If it's in a longer thread like this one, I copy-paste a "printer-friendly" copy of the significant message(s) into the target thread. The idea of using a "printer friendly" copy is that it's formatted in a way that makes it clear who it's from and when and where it was posted, so the duplication doesn't confuse the people who do harvesting from the Digital Tradition. Looks like I have some studying to do. I haven't looked into hog songs much. I was raised among Holsteins, not Hogs.
