No, I haven't been in prison. I've been in Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. I saw a lot of prisons. They like to build them within plain view of major highways (like the one in Ina, IL). Maybe they think having highly visible prisons promotes good citizenship. Or maybe the land abutting interstate highways is dirt cheap since nobody really wants to live there.
