Chumbawamba Acoustic will be appearing at the Electric Theatre in Guildford on Friday,29th September 2006 at 8 pm. Those of you who remember them as the agit-prop pop band of the 1980's and '90's will be in for a surprise. Always admirers of traditional song, they have "discovered" acoustic music and become the unplugged Chumbawamba Acoustic. Their latest release "A Singsong And A Scrap", (on which they are joined by Coope,Boyes & Simpson and Oysterband's John Jones) is choc-a-bloc with thought-provoking lyrics set to deceptively catchy tunes and features glorious a cappella harmonies – and a trumpet!
To quote the revered organiser of Electric Voices "You'll leave the Theatre humming and thinking!"
Admission is £16.00 on the day, but if booked in advance you will pay only £14.00 in advance. Tickets can be obtained from the theatre box office on 01483 444789.
