We went to a Castilian restaurant in the Gaslamp District for dinner tonight with friends, and because we were early the place was empty. So before we left, the manager came by the table and sang a Boccelli aria to us. Stunning job, he did, and our jaws were hitting the table, because it was entirely unexpected.

Then we went to a small espresso bar just up the street where they sell good cigars and let you smoke them on the premises. A real treat here in smoke-free California and I indulged even though I am off the cigarette habit.
